Faster drug test results from the turn of the year
Falck now offers immediate results for negative drug tests, enabling faster decisions and increased safety in workplaces. The drug tests are aimed at companies and organizations that want to ensure a safe and drug-free work environment for their employees.
With the new immediate responses to drug tests, our customers can receive results for negative drug tests within 48 hours. Drug tests are most often conducted in connection with new employment or when there is suspicion that an employee is under the influence at the workplace.
– We can now provide even faster responses to negative drug tests compared to before, which is something our customers have requested. Receiving results immediately means that employers can act quickly and effectively to address any issues, which in turn contributes to a safer and more productive work environment, says Margita Hägglund, Quality, Environment, and Safety Manager at Falck.
How immediate responses to drug tests work
The employee visits one of our units where the drug test is conducted via a urine or saliva sample. As soon as a negative drug test arrives, an email is generated. The email is anonymized and sent directly to the recipient.
If the test result is positive, it is investigated and reviewed by MRO doctors for a medical assessment. The test result is then communicated back to the recipient by the MRO doctor. The response time for a positive test is somewhat longer compared to a negative test.
Why drug tests in workplaces?
Using drug tests as an employer can have several purposes, depending on the workplace and the specific requirements of the business. Here are four reasons why an employer might choose to use drug tests:
1. Safety
In industries where safety is important, such as transport, construction, and manufacturing, drug tests can help ensure that employees are not under the influence of drugs that could jeopardize their own or others' safety.
2. Productivity
Drug abuse can negatively affect an employee's productivity and work ability. By identifying and managing drug problems, employers can help maintain an efficient and productive work environment.
3. Prevention of accidents and injuries
Drug tests can help reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in the workplace.
4. Recruitment and selection
Drug tests can be used as part of the recruitment process to ensure that new employees meet the company's requirements for being drug-free.
It is valuable for the business to have clear policies and communication regarding drug testing to avoid misunderstandings and to create a transparent work environment.
